Main Article Content
Abstract
The study identifies as its central problem the inadequacies in the training and development of managerial staff in the tourism sector of Villa Clara province, which limits the efficiency and strategic development of this key economic activity. Its main objective was to design and implement a general model to improve this training process. The methodology was based on a qualitative exploratory-descriptive approach, using semi-structured interviews with graduates and a comprehensive analysis of academic records, allowing for an evidence-based diagnosis. The main result is the proposal of a General Integrative Model, structured into four sequential stages and eleven steps, grounded in competency-based management, which addresses critical training gaps identified, such as digital and sustainable management competencies. The most relevant conclusion is that the model constitutes a valid and systemic framework for transforming training into a continuous improvement cycle with impact assessment, representing a strategic investment that can enhance the competitiveness of the region's tourism sector.
