Abstract
Sr editor, Le escribo como Dermatólogo del Hospital Provincial Pediátrico Universitario José Luis Miranda en el Municipio de Santa Clara, Provincia Villa Clara; debido al aumento de la prevalencia e incidencia de las lesiones cutáneas premalignas o Daño Actínico Crónico (DAC) en edad pediátrica producto a la exposición indiscriminada a la luz, ya sea natural (solar) o artificial (lámparas artificiales) en la Provincia de Villa Clara. El DAC severo representa el principal factor junto al fototipo I-II de piel (personas con poca capacidad para el bronceado y aparición de quemaduras solares) del cáncer de piel infantil, sobre todo si existen nevos preexistentes que incrementan la posibilidad de sufrir un melanoma maligno, que representa las tres cuartas partes de la mortalidad por cáncer cutáneo y cuyo pronóstico es desfavorable.
