Challenges for the implementation of National Financial Education Strategies in Latin America and the Caribbean

Abstract
This work presents the concepts around financial education, its importance in achieving economic development in both countries and regions. The historical development of the treatment of financial education by different institutions is summarized, which results in the implementation of National Financial Education Strategies. The region of Latin America and the Caribbean is no stranger to the treatment of these terms and although it was not one of the first regions to implement its ENEF, it has been developing continuous work on the subject as one of the main ways to achieve economic development in the region and the increase in the standard of living of the people. This article describes the ways in which our region has been implementing and controlling these initiatives. Finally, and according to an abundant bibliographic review, the main challenges that our region faces in formulating, elements, and monitoring the ENEF are stated.
