Abstract
This essay carries out a critical analysis regarding what has been called "improvement of the state enterprise", from a perspective that not only explains some of the main challenges and possibilities of such improvement in the current socioeconomic context, but also the emphasis on the socialist quality of the Cuban company beyond the statist visions. The essay makes a retrospective of the different stages in the future of the Cuban socialist company, from which trends that have prevailed in its structural designs are identified and analyzed, and that cannot be ignored in the strategies and measures applied and put into practice to achieve its perfection. The authors provide a set of criteria from which they base the essential aspects on which the development of the Cuban socialist company should focus, as a leading subject of economic and social development.
