Remedios Parrandas Complex: potential and limitations for its commercialization

Abstract

The Remedios Parranda as an intangible heritage of humanity, generates important impacts on the economic, political, social, historical and cultural orders in Remedios municipality. However,

the current conditions of the economy impose the need to sustain it economically through its commercialization, as the main element of the traditional popular culture of the territory. Thus generate income for local development and the party itself. This paper aim to identify the potentials and limitations for the commercialization of the Remedian parranda as a cultural product. The research was based on a mixed methodological approach, supported by theoretical methods such as historical-logical and synthetic analytical and empirical methods such as document review, PESTEL analysis, surveys and interviews. The main legal, economic, financial and commercial problems that limit the sustainability of the Remedian parranda were determined. The above guides the process of selecting alternatives to achieve sustainability in the short, medium and long terms of the Parranda in Remedios and that can be generalized to the rest of the municipalities that develop them.
