Diagnostic as element of Local Development Strategy

Abstract
This article reviews the concepts of diagnosis, development strategy, competition, regional integration and business networks. Local development initiatives must be based on an initial community diagnosis with the participation of all local actors, the essence of the process, during the initial participative diagnosis, planning, execution, control and distribution of the benefits obtained. It is concluded that, in this process that leads the municipality to join the global competition for markets and profitability, emphasis must be placed on local integration processes and dialogues of knowledge that preserve and add value to local heritage and promote sustainable local development.
