Science and Innovation in the cultural sector in Villa Clara, an analysis of its current status

Abstract
In the culture sector, together with other areas of knowledge and business, a scenario must be fostered, where through science and innovation, solutions are sought that affect greater satisfaction of the spiritual needs in the communities. Hence, it is required to know the main regularities that characterize the current state of scientific research in the institutional system of culture, describing in this study its behavior in Villa Clara province. A cross-sectional descriptive study is presented for the period 2013 – 2022, considering in this sense the indicators: research plan, scientific categorization, improvement, scientific publications and results achieved. The main vulnerabilities of the science and innovation process in the cultural sector of Villa Clara are confirmed as results and are concluded with recommendations for its strengthening.
