Cleaner productions as a contribution to sustainability

Abstract

This article will summarize the research carried out in the UEB # 13 of Encrucijada, belonging to the Provincial Company of Local Production of Construction Materials. In it, a procedure with a cleaner production approach was applied as a contribution to improving its sustainability. The methods that were used were based on a theoretical analysis of the international and national literature that was accessed. Techniques were applied to obtain and analyze information, such as: surveys, interviews, group work techniques, statistical methods, cause-effect diagram, analysis of documents and records, etc. The proposal constitutes an important tool to evaluate the environmental performance in the organization. As a result of the investigation, the main deficiencies of the processes and their impact in terms of solid waste generation were defined, in addition, it provides the detection of cleaner production opportunities in the processes, which contributes to ecologically sustainable productions.
