Implementation of actions of the Life Task in the face of vulnerabilities in Villa Clara's North Keys
Main Article Content
Abstract
Ecosystems are prone to vulnerabilities, with the marine environment being one of the most susceptible to the impact of climate change. For this reason, a retrospective longitudinal descriptive study was carried out under a quantitative paradigm in all the tourist keys of the North Villa Clara coast in the period from 2018 to 2020 with the objectives of identifying the main environmental vulnerabilities in the North Key, as well as assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the Life Task in said environment. The beaches that comprise said coastline were selected through non-probabilistic sampling. The methods used to compile the information were observation and documentary analysis, conducting a review of the documents archived in the CITMA Territorial Delegation in Villa Clara, as well as the previous bibliographic review of the topic to be investigated. The most relevant results were that all the vulnerabilities in the North Key were identified, in terms of actions of the Life Task, it was possible to improve the situation of the beaches with the dumping of sand on them, the action of the plants was considered effective, as well as waste treatment, among other actions, which has favored the marine ecosystem and the development of tourism. In conclusion, the vulnerabilities were identified, as well as the actions carried out by CITMA in the application of the Life Task in Villa Clara were characterized as very effective.
